fettuccine alfredo

This is an extremely easy and fast alfredo sauce! This recipe has less fat than most alfredo recipes by using half and half, small amounts of butter and cheese, and you can’t even tell the difference! It is so much better than a jarred sauce! We added grilled chicken to ours but you could add shrimp, italian sausage, veggies, anything you like!!

Ingredients:

1 pound uncooked fettuccine

1 tbls. butter

3 garlic cloves, minced

1 1/4 cups half and half

3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (you could also use fresh)

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. black pepper

5-7 chopped fresh basil leaves

Preparation:

Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside.

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute garlic until soft, add half and half, cheese, salt and pepper; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Reduce heat; add pasta and basil, tossing gently to coat.

Serve with crusty french bread and enjoy!
