basil walnut pesto

I love pesto! Love to put it on pasta, chicken, bread, shrimp, I think it is delicious on almost anything. 🙂 Right now when basil is so abundant pesto is the perfect thing to make. This one uses walnuts but of course you can use pine nuts if you prefer.


3 cups packed basil leaves

1/3 cup olive oil

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

3 cloves garlic

1/2 cup grated parmesan

1/2 tsp. kosher salt.


Place basil, olive oil, walnuts, garlic, parmesan and salt in food processor and blend until thoroughly combined. Use right away, refrigerate, or freeze.
