sugar-free peach crostada

I am all about homemade, made from scratch foods. Sometimes, however, you need a go to easy does it, semi-homemade sweet treat. This is one of those things! A summery fruit treat that doesn’t take any time and is sugar free! There’s no excuse not to make this one asap. I used stevia as a sugar substitute but I’m sure you could use any substitute that you prefer. Did you know that stevia is 300 to 400 times sweeter than sugar?! Crazy! 300 times sweeter and no calories? Yes please.


Pastry for single crust 9-inch pie

1 tbls all-purpose flour

6 packets Stevia sweetener, or 3 tsp. Stevia in bulk

4 cups sliced fresh peaches (about 4 medium) or frozen peaches, thawed

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tsp. cinnamon

Dash of nutmeg


Combine flour, Stevia, vanilla and cinnamon and toss with peaches. Let stand 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 425 F. Roll pastry on floured surface, place on ungreased cookie sheet or pizza stone. Arrange peaches on pastry. Sprinkle peaches lightly with nutmeg. Bring pastry edge toward center, overlapping as necessary.

Bake until crust is browned and fruit is tender, 25 to 30 minutes.
