hot and sweet drumsticks

These drumsticks are wonderful. They are a fantastic blend of spicy and sweet and the chicken is so juicy! Preparation is nothing, takes no more than 5 minutes then everything is finished off in the oven. Can’t get any easier than that!

Ingredients:

recipe adapted from tastykitchen.com

1 c. apricot preserves

1/2 c. ketchup

1/4 c. soy sauce

3 tsp. minced garlic

4 tsp. hot pepper sauce (I used cholula)

3 lbs. drumsticks (about 12) * I did half that amount and like it better that way, the sauce really covered the drumsticks more!*

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 350F. In a small saucepan, combine preserves, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic and hot pepper sauce. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until preserves are melted.

Arrange drumsticks in a single layer on a 13 x 9″ baking pan. Pour sauce over drumsticks, turning to coat. Bake, uncovered, for 40-45 minutes or until chicken is done, spooning sauce over drumsticks while baking.
