Creamy Jalapeno Deliciousness

Please tell me you have been to Chuys. Yes? No? Oh I hope so! Until very recently the closest Chuys was 5 hours away, there is now one in tyler so it is much closer. Yay! At Chuys they have amazing salsa, incredible burritos, and creamy jalapeno. Creamy jalapeno…it really is hard to find the words to describe. 🙂 You just have to experience the dip!

A few nights ago the hubs and I were really wanting Mexican food. We didn’t want to go out so we made tacos at home and were feeling the need for some yummy dip. I scoured the internet and found at least 50 different recipes for creamy jalapeno. I took a few recipes and some intel my sister Meredith had received from a Chuys waitress and came up with what we thought was a pretty good replica.

Here is the recipe. Please, please, please make this today! You will not be sorry.

Chuy’s Creamy Jalapeno

3/4 cup mayonnaise (no low fat!)

3/4 cup buttermilk

2 to 3 garlic gloves

1 (1 ounce) packet hidden valley ranch dressing mix

1 (4 ounce) can green chilies

1/2 – 3/4 cup pickled jalapeno peppers slices

(Go with the lower end of the measurement if you are not a fan of spicy things, this dip gets hotter and hotter as it marinates in the fridge.)

3 tablespoons cilantro

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon lime juice

Mix mayo, buttermilk and ranch mix.
Chop chilies, jalapenos, garlic and cilantro together. (I used the blender)
Mix in salt and lime. Add ranch mixture to blender with chiles and pulse for a few beats.

Refigerate for at least an hour. Serve with tortilla chips.
